Enabling Emergency Alerts on Android

Enabling Emergency Alerts on your Android device is very simple.

Steps to enable emergency alerts

Depending on your specific model of phone, the settings may vary.

Option 1:

1. Open the Settings app on your Android device.
2. Find the Notifications section.
3. From here you will either see:
   1. Advanced in the top right. Click this.
   2. A list of your apps (no additional steps needed).
4. Scroll down to the Notifyd app and click it.
5. Make sure the following settings are turned on:
   1. Allow notifications
   2. On lock screen - Show content or Hide content (whichever you prefer)
   3. Set as priority

Once you're done, your settings should look similar to this:

Option 2:

1. Navigate: Settings - Notifications - Advanced settings.
2. Tap Wireless Emergency Alerts.
3. Tap the Allow to turn on Switch:
   Select any of the following to turn on or off.
   Extreme alerts
   Severe alerts
